The two cities complement each other: Marrakech for its spice markets, tanning and metalwork traditions, Fes for its pottery cooperatives and the deepest concentration of traditional craft workshops anywhere in Morocco. Between them, a private cooking class in each city anchors the food side of the trip. This suits travellers who'd rather make something than just look at it — a tagine you cooked yourself, a small pottery piece you painted, a genuine conversation with an artisan about a craft their family has done for generations. It's a slower, more participatory pace than our sightseeing-focused circuits. It's not a shopping tour, though there's time built in if you want to buy directly from workshops you visit. Day by day
The group meets in the afternoon for a walk through Marrakech's spice market and souks, meeting stallholders and learning what goes into the spice blends that flavour Moroccan cooking. Overnight in a Marrakech riad.

Fes is Morocco's centre for pottery and zellige tilework — hand-cut geometric mosaic tiles used in palaces and fountains for centuries. A visit to a working pottery cooperative includes a hands-on painting session, followed by a zellige workshop where you watch tiles cut by hand.
