3-Day Sahara Desert Tour

Yes — if your time is limited, this 3-day Marrakech desert tour is the most efficient way to see the Sahara. You get Aït Benhaddou, the gorges, and a full night in the dunes. The drive is long (5–6 hours each way) but the landscapes along the route are spectacular. If you have 7 days, you can do the same route at a more relaxed pace and add Fes.

Pack light — you will be in and out of vehicles. Key items: comfortable walking shoes, a warm layer for desert nights (it drops to 8–12°C), sunscreen, a scarf for sand, head torch, camera. The desert camp provides blankets and bedding. We send a full packing list after booking.

March to May and September to November are ideal — mild temperatures, clear skies, great light. December to February is also excellent (cold nights but brilliant skies and almost no tourists). We suspend desert tours July–August when the Sahara exceeds 48°C.

You stay in a traditional Berber-style camp with individual furnished tents or bungalows — beds and bedding included, not backpacking tents. The camp has solar lights, shared bathrooms, and a communal area where dinner is served around a fire.

Yes. Solo travellers make up around 40% of our group bookings. You will be placed with a small group of 2–7 other travellers. Single supplement applies if you want your own twin room.

Tipping is voluntary and always appreciated. A typical range is $10–$20 per person per day for your guide, and $5–$10 per day for your driver. This is usually settled in cash at the end of the tour.
